What, besides the signing on of a new tenant in the Comedy Theatre, is happening at Vanport Square (between Sumner and Emerson on the west side of MLK)?
As noted earlier, Old Town Pizza and Living Color Beauty Supply have opened. The Horn of Africa East African Restaurant, relocated, looks nearly ready to open (they’ve been building out this space for the restaurant slowly, for months).
Other tenants include: an insurance agent, who briefly had his name lettered on the door but took it down; Cascade Energy Engineering; two chiropractic offices, and a psychologist.
Based on the ‘for sale’ signs, there are three spaces left of the sixteen areas built into Vanport Square.
Vanport Square, which opened in January, is a project comprised of owner-occupied retail space, or “commercial condos,” a strategy again being used in the current plan for the Killingsworth Station project at N. Interstate and Killingsworth.
