Ned Ludd opened last month at 3925 NE MLK, in the building most recently occupied by Carboni’s, and is earning itself rave reviews.
From the Oregonian:
Owners Ben Meyer and Jason French will cook exclusively using the wood-burning oven left behind in the space, hence the low-tech name (Ludd was the mythical machine-smashing hero of the anti-industrialist Luddites). Meyer calls the food “Euro Portland” — rib roast steaks, roasted pheasant, vegetable gratins and bounteous salads executed with local ingredients.
I’ve only had time to stop by and look at the place – and it looks great inside, as does the menu – but I’m definitely looking forward to taking the time for a meal here.
