Continuing the theme of creative reuse noted in the last two posts, tomorrow is the “grand opening” party for SCRAP, the School & Community Reuse Action Project. SCRAP has been around for about ten years, gathering up unwanted and left-over materials of all sorts and selling them to the public. Over the years I’ve bought paper, cards, boxes, beads, tiles, fabric, stickers and much more at SCRAP.
Recently they moved into this building at 2915 NE MLK, a building formerly occupied (and still owned) by AAA Heating and Cooling, now housed on Grand Avenue:
Tomorrow’s party includes a live jazz band, a visit from City Commissioner Amanda Fritz, a Junk2Funk fashion show, and lots of treats.
