Outlook Portland’s 2008 interview with Paulk Knauls and James Harrison about celebrating the history of N/NE Portland. MLK Blvd.

David Bragdon on Outlook Portland used a show in 2008 to interview long-time Albina resident and businessman Paul Knauls, who was part of the Union Avenue Boosters Club in the seventies, and currently owns Geneva’s on MLK nearly four decades later. James Harrison is also interviewed about his involvement in the planning of the Portland Development Commission’s Gateway & Heritage Markers Project (scheduled to begin construction in a few months):

Fascinating interview with these two, especially longtimer Knauls, whose Geneva’s Shear Perfection is at 5601 NE MLK in the old Winchell’s Donut House, as  he mentions. The North Star celestial art-piece Harrison mentions was left out of the final Gateway plans due to the costs of building it.
