According to Portland Police:
On Wednesday February 4, 2015, at 4:33 p.m., North Precinct and Gang Enforcement Team officers responded to the report of a shooting at KFC, located at 5721 Northeast Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
Officers and medical personnel arrived and located a male victim suffering from injuries related to gunfire.
Based on current information, the shooting appears to be gang-related and the Gang Enforcement Team will be leading the investigation.
Update from Portland Police Bureau, Feb 5th:
The victim in Wednesday afternoon’s shooting was identified as 22-year-old Teondre Antonio Bonner. Bonner continues to recover from a gunshot wound at a Portland hospital and is expected to survive his injuries. Bonner is known to police as a gang member.
Detectives learned that the shooting occurred on Northeast Jessup Street, just West of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. Bonner ran into the KFC where employees called 9-1-1.
Witnesses told police that a group of 5-7 males ran from the scene westbound on Jessup after the shooting. The group described as a younger mix of African American and Hispanic males.
Update, February 20th, arrests made: two 14-year-olds.
